Meet Calvin Hill: Future Drafting Design Technician

“My personal goal is to obtain an associate of science degree in pre-engineering with an emphasis in drafting technology. After obtaining this degree I will work as an engineering technician for a mechanical engineering company, providing the necessary drafting of the designs needed to produce the product efficiently and accurately.

“My training in CTE courses in high school prepared me for life after high school by helping me discover my love of drafting. I discovered that my desire to utilize my computer skills and my need for things to be ‘just perfect’ were best focused in the area of drafting design. I also learned that this was a viable career to which I could aspire. I also discovered the need for drafters in the world of engineering. I focused my CTE Pathway toward this career goal, and have taken some advanced drafting classes at the local Applied Technology College to improve both my knowledge of the field and my employability in the field.”
