Meet Shelby Nelson: Future Cosmetologist
“Creative and hands-on are both traits that I knew my future career would have to have in order to keep me excited and motivated for work. These are traits I looked for as I chose courses in school to help me in my career decision.
“The CTE courses I took in high school prepared me for life after high school by broadening my knowledge of what is available. The courses helped me realize a career can be fun while also being rewarding. You can enjoy your job while building relationships with clients and being creative, all while making a living.
“[Participating in a CTE] Pathway showed me what I enjoy and made it clear to me what career would be best for me to succeed.”
