Career and Technical Education
Career and Technical Education (CTE) in the Utah System of Higher Education (USHE) prepares students for employment in a wide variety of career and professional occupations including agriculture, business, computer science, family and consumer science, allied health, retail sales, and industrial and technical education. CTE prepares you for more than a good paying job: it is the beginning of a career path which may include advanced training.

What is Career and Technical Education?

Career and Technical Education (CTE) provides students with opportunities to gain the skills necessary to enter good paying careers with potential for financial growth, increased levels of responsibility, and a high degree of personal satisfaction.

CTE training is tailored to the current needs of business and industry. CTE instructors have hands on experience in their fields. All CTE programs are competency based; many programs allow students to work at their own pace. Utah's public colleges and universities offer CTE programs ranging from ASE-approved automotive training to cosmetology, criminal justice and culinary arts to early childhood development and electronics to welding.
